From the Beginning of Time

In the new book, the reader will accompany the Spanish as they explore California, adventure with characters like Pore Ol' Charley add the fables J. Ross Browne, and witness bull and bear fights that recall the sports of over a century ago. MacLean grew up in the ranch lands where many of these tales took place, and he knows his subject.
His sister Ione MacLean Bowman, also a rancher, illustrated the book with feeling for the subject she shares.
